At first Dave was a happy child living with father, mother and two brothers. His father was a firefighter. His mother was a good housekeeper, good cook and arrange the room, often took her three children for a walk, and Dave would often teach various things. But everything changed when for some reason all of a sudden his mother became an alcoholic and often abused. Dave was beaten, not given food or proper clothes, and had to sleep in the garage. He is often forced to drink ammonia, soap, or chlorox. He was forced to go to school with the same clothes every day so that he shunned his friends. He had to run to school, while two brothers escorted his mother with a car. He was told to do various household chores. If he does not successfully complete the task on time, he will be punished and not given eat. Because he was hungry, Dave often steal food supplies of his friends, so he gets more punishment from his mother. He was required to take back food that has been throwed up.Oddly enough he only gets torture, while the two brothers continue to be treated as usual. Even more surprising is the attitude of the father and two brothers who pretend not to see Dave tortured. Even his father did not dare to help when Dave accidentally stabbed by his mother. Even so, when her mother was not there, her father always showed his affection as a father and always promised to save him, despite his father's actions are not much help because his father was rarely home. In fact his father actually left the house without bringing Dave. How the fate of Dave's next? Can he survive the ordeal her mother?Consider the twists and turns in its struggle to survive amid the enormity of torture in the book. In this autobiography, Dave Pelzer tells of his childhood is dark and full of suffering. At age children to play and frustrating lesson in school, Dave is only think of a plan to get food and how he survived the ordeal her mother the next. This book is very draining tears and provoke a sense of sad how a mother bear to torture his own flesh and blood. You will feel the tension when listening to Dave's dark tale, A Child Called 'It'.
